A couple of days ago while getting my daily burn in at Seattle’s Bouldering Project I was able to cross paths with a long time friend, Kristine, who had her hands and eyes occupied spotting one of the two favorite climbers in her life. It wasn’t her husband and Eddie Bauer professional mountain climber, Dave Morton, but their young son, Thorne. Seeing Thorne practice his slab climbing technique by ascending ‘up’ the slick slide and fearlessly reigning over the SBP kids bouldering castle was evidence enough that a love for adventure is strong with this one. Thorne, at the age of 2, has also ventured to the Kathmandu Valley and has spent nights above 15,000 ft in the remote Khumbu Valley of Nepal on a recent family vacation. Please follow the words and pictures of Dave Morton here at blog.eddiebauer.com and turn your family’s dream into a reality.
Also, check out the post expedition happenings from Dave Morton and fellow Eddie Bauer climbing ambassador, Melissa Arnot’s, recent guided summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. This was part of a fundraising and awareness initiative for Summit on the Summit. An amazing cause directed toward focusing the human right of clean drinking water Worldwide.
