Racing down an active volcano at 30 mph on a little piece of wood is really fun!
Here’s an adventure sport that seems to have erupted in popularity since 2005 when the first wood sled made the 1,600 foot descent down the thick volcanic ash of Cerro Negro, an active volcano near Leon, Nicaragua. I came across this article by The Expert Vagabond. This looks like a pure adrenaline rush.
As of now, volcano boarding only happens on this particular volcano and if you want to try it, then check out one of these companies: Big Foot Nicaragua, Tierra Tour, Quetzaltrekkers and Va Pues Tours.
