The highest freestanding mountain in Africa, Mt. Kilimanjaro, rises from the desert floor to a height of 19,340 ft. This extinct volcano has three cones (Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira) and the summit has a commanding view of the surrounding plains, complete with five eco-systems and extensive game reserves.
PathWrangler’s own Eric Remza has led a few expeditions to Kilimanjaro in the last couple of years. You can read about his trip preparations, adventures he did while in Africa as well as his pros and cons here.
